Thinking about it, the last several holidays have been spent with someone,
if not everyone, being "under the weather". This holiday was not going to be left out. Last week when Myron built our sandbox Wyatt was in it none stop. "Dirt" was all he could think about. So when he woke up Monday morning with his left eye glued shut we figured he had as much sand in his eye that was in his bed. Especially since it cleared up and the next morning seemed to be clear. Then Wednesday morning he woke up with the right eye gooed shut. Hmm, I thought about it,
maybe pink eye, but surely not it was the other eye. It had cleared up. He was in the sandbox again all day. Well sure enough he woke up Thursday morning with both eyes "
stuck", as he yelled. So we made a dr.'s appointment and they couldn't see him until Friday. Fine. We were sure what it was and the doctor confirmed that. What we didn't know was he also had an ear infection. Our first ever. Rylie has even stayed free and clear in her 4.5 years of life. What a blessing,
that we stayed free of ear infections or pinkeye for so long. But two antibiotic's later we were sent into our weekend with gooey eyes, an infected ear, and a nasty cough (Rylie's not Wyatt's). That's life right, life with kids. Roll with the punches we are learning. I cant say the wind/weather helped to lift our spirits either. 35 MPH winds all day long made the beautiful Saturday and Sunday hard to enjoy.
Especially with an ear infection. Yesterday seemed to be the same but Myron braved the weather for a bike ride and by the time he got back the skies had cleared and we headed out into the wilderness,
sorta.
