Finally a little snow!

After a very dry January we were thrilled to get some moisture this weekend. Fire season was looking really scary this year and hopefully this will help some. We still need quite a bit more but we will take what we can get.

I had to postpone a Family Photo Session so Myron took advantage and headed to the mountain for a powder day. Wolf Creek reported 39" out of the storm with hopefully more to come this week.

The kids and I explored more of our new surrounding and shoveled an extra long driveway.

I am working on posting more on our new house soon. I have hesitated because its pretty much empty and we haven't had time to paint or really decorate yet. But I will soon, I know many of you family member's have been interested.

A weekend with the Riggsbee's

The girls in the snow.
I wrote on my Business page as well. But this is fun. This is more of what we actually did and I don't care if my pictures are a little fuzzy. We had a fabulous weekend in Angel Fire NM with Shanna and her family. For those of you who don't remember Shanna has been a dear friend of mine since 3rd grade or so. Today she and her family live in Austin, Tx and we haven't been able to see them since  Summer 2011. Needless to say, I have missed her, desperately. There is no better excuse to throw your kids in the car and drive 3.5 hours with a major snow storm coming, then to see old friends.

Rylie and Gracen

Adam and Myron watching the game.
We shall not talk about the outcome.

actually the outcome was this
Star Wars Monopoly

Gracen took to Rylie's ski's like a trooper!

Coach Rylie

When Rylie wasn't showing Gracen how to ski she was reading to Avery.
I think this weekend was very good for Rylie's "ego"

don't worry Wyatt was just a step behind the ladies, even if he was out numbered.

Snow Cream!
Wyatt's favorite spot!

hot chocolate anyone?!

Shanna tried out the snowshoes!
She is so adventurous.

Avery tried skiing the next day!

maybe not quite as successful as her sister, but hey she tried!!

Rylie doing tricks.

So lets see here....

We are so thankful to The Coates Family. They have gifted us with the wonder of Face time and we have been able to enjoy actual face to face conversations with much of our family. The kids are always asking to call someone!!

We continue to have frigid temperatures and are running through our wood fast. We have plenty to keep us warm we just tend to forget the work that goes along with it!

However the cold weather has made for some beautiful mornings!

Rylie girl got her first report card and lost another tooth, all in the same day!

The last snow was wet enough to build an actual snowman!
As well as get the van stuck in the driveway for the first time all winter...

While we were shoveling the kids asked Myron to throw snow on them, they loved it!

here is Wyatt playing a little dress-up, army man style
Rylie and I went Cross Country Skiing yesterday  for a little Girl time!
She is such a great skier, and we learned her skis are to slow for her!

and heres a little video in case you missed it this weekend!!
