So lets see here....

We are so thankful to The Coates Family. They have gifted us with the wonder of Face time and we have been able to enjoy actual face to face conversations with much of our family. The kids are always asking to call someone!!

We continue to have frigid temperatures and are running through our wood fast. We have plenty to keep us warm we just tend to forget the work that goes along with it!

However the cold weather has made for some beautiful mornings!

Rylie girl got her first report card and lost another tooth, all in the same day!

The last snow was wet enough to build an actual snowman!
As well as get the van stuck in the driveway for the first time all winter...

While we were shoveling the kids asked Myron to throw snow on them, they loved it!

here is Wyatt playing a little dress-up, army man style
Rylie and I went Cross Country Skiing yesterday  for a little Girl time!
She is such a great skier, and we learned her skis are to slow for her!

and heres a little video in case you missed it this weekend!!

2013

We are finally enjoying some of our beautiful snow.
We waited a long time for it.
When it got here we were sick, good thing it stays around a lot longer here then it does in North Carolina!
It has been so nice to have our Wyatt back to himself too.
He has played and talked non-stop for the last 72 hours at least!

Sledding in the back yard. They have the most fun on that little hill.

me too!!!

Building their snowball fort, as they call it!

Saturday we couldn't decide it we would go sledding or skiing, so we did both.
First we stopped to sled, because Wyatt was all about it and sometimes you just have to jump on things when he is feeling inspired!
ready for action with his goggles and Bobcat hat!

I caught Rylie as she crashed.
She just got right back up. She is such a tough girl!

My Family!
Then we headed to the Ski Mountain.
We knew Rylie was ready (she is always ready to ski) but were hoping Wyatt would try too.

here she comes!
While Myron and Rylie rode the lift to ski, Wyatt and I stayed at "Base Camp" to build a little confidence.
He did great even let his sister give him a few pointers when she came down.

 Break time...

Now its back to school. I think Rylie is ready, but I sure have enjoyed having her home.

Ski day...

I know you want to hear of our Christmas, I will get there soon there is a lot (of photos and emotions) to go through so I thought I would share these first.
After 3 or more weeks of being sick and lots of snow we decided to get out for just a little bit. We borrowed The Bellina's Chariot and grabbed our cross-country skis and headed to the Golf Course to test out their trails. It was a great little adventure and both kids did a lot of skiing. We were very impressed, I think Wyatt even surprised himself a little because he did not want to get off.
  We were so proud!!

Rylie skied the first half of the trail.

Wyatt always has to let it sink in first.

off she went!

we finally caught up...

Wyatt's turn.
To be honest I can't believe he actually put the ski's on!

she was pooped...

he must have really been paying attention because he got it right from the get go,
didn't even want to use the poles...

First Day on the Hill

We had to do something fun together. We have been stuck in the house our whole break battling one sickness or another. And all though we are thankful for the much needed rest and time off, we were all itching to go do something else for our last day of break. Myron suggested we all go up to Wolf Creek and pick up his season pass, Rylie suggested we go ski. And that we did. Wyatt even made it into both ski boots and skis today! He took a few (quick) runs but we are so proud he even tried. Rylie, well she skied her little heart out. Even going on the big slopes with Dad.

Ready to Go!

not before a quick snowball!

He did it!!!
The whole time chewing his helmet strap.

Ready to hit the big slopes with Dad

She really, really loves this!

Rylie came home with her very own Ski Pass.
Such a big girl!
