Wyatt's Birth Story...10-06-2008

So while GaGa has Wyatt and Rylie is asleep I will try to give you Wyatt's birth story. I honestly think its the birth I have always dreamed of. After Rylie's birth I was honestly terrified of what was going to transpire. Praise the Lord it was almost a total opposite (except for the wonderful outcome of course).
Well as you know I was took the doctor up on a Monday induction. I had been having contractions all week prior and at 3 cm I was already further along then I was with Rylie when I got my epidural! Sunday night after I put Rylie to bed I had a good cry, my baby. Monday morning we woke early, I ate a good breakfast and we drove and hour to the hospital. We arrived at our 7:30 am time, were put in the SAME room Rylie was born in, and Dr. Baca was there within ten minutes. It was so fabulous. She found me at 4 cm and inserted the medication to start induction and monitored the baby's heart rate for an hour. After that I made it a point to stay on my feet. Myron and I walked the halls and then found the stairs. I walked and walked and walked those stairs. I only felt a few strong contractions so I kept walking. I was told to be back at 11 for more monitoring and for Dr. Baca to check me. She said I was almost 5cm and we decided to break my water. I was pretty excited to be so far along and still be able to walk and move and NO PITOCIN had to be used. The nurse asked if she should call for the Epidural and I thought I could hold out. She left to call and tell him to be on point for me and while she was gone Myron suggested I go ahead and ask him to come. Sure enough by the time the nurse got back her first comment was "your not smiling anymore". I told her I was ready and within the hour it took for him to get there I was having intense contractions. Myron stated later I didn't even know Friends was on !ha The epidural went in and life was a little better again. After an hour or so Myron got nervous I was going out of labor again (simply because I was "resting") and went for a walk. During this time I kept waiting for the pressure to come, the pressure to push. But it never did. All I could feel was this pinching sensation in my back. Then nausea. Myron got back just as the nurse arrived and I told her what was happening. She decided to check me as some people feel nausea rather then pressure. Her comment "well hello there baby head". Wyatt was there and ready to go. Within the hour he was born. I want to say I only pushed for 30 minutes or so. When he was born Dr. Baca asked Myron to tell me what "it" was, he couldn't find "it" because of the cord but when he turned around and said "Its a Boy" I honestly don't think I have ever seen him happier. They laid him on my chest and we got to hold him for three hours before he went to the nursery!!! Oh it was so lovely and we are so thrilled to have him here to complete our family.
Rylie loves him and was so excited to see the "bub-beeeee". She gets very VERY upset when he does and is of course having some jealousy issues with mom but today was a little better and I am hoping for each day to show this trend. It really does help to have my mom here to entertain her and keep her busy. I can't imagine the guilt and drama we/I would have otherwise. One day at a time I suppose.
So there it is. I am sure a detail or two has been left out but I know you all were wanting to know. We are all doing well and trying to rest. I will do my best to post again as soon as possible. We have much to tell about uncle Gray and GaGa and Baby Grace. All the wonderful things of that have happened this week. Thank you for your continued prayers and thought. We surely do appreciate them and you!

Monday, Monday

So its Sunday evening and no baby. Brother Gray has arrived though and that is exciting!! So we shall venture to Mercy Medical Center in the wee hours of the a.m. Aunt Lisser will update as much as possible. She does have some travel time in there so we will see if Shanna or Liz (neither of which I have asked yet!) can fill in during those times. We will just see whats going on! Keep us in your thoughts and prayer's we were talking about Rylie's birth today and it made me nervous and anxious again!! I just want things to go smoothly and have a healthy, happy baby by the end of the day.

Love you all!!!

Update

Sorry for the delay, after our dr appointment we hung out around town. We were able to get Rylie some much needed fall clothes. Nights are pretty chilly here and days are quickly cooling off. Poor girl had nothing but summer clothes. We actually have a winter storm warning for the weekend, figures.

As for the doctor's appointment Mama bear is very happy. Dr. Baca says I am about 70% effaced and almost 3 cm!!! Oh heaven! If the baby doesn't come by Monday, that's right MONDAY, we are going to be induced. I have to confess I was going to ask them to schedule an induction later in the week but took her up on Monday with no thought. I am very excited about this I tell ya!!!

Plus, Uncle Gray is coming on Sunday. My brother, as many of you know, has been in Iraq for the last few months. He has chosen to drive from San Diego on Sunday, his birthday, to see his mama, niece, and sister. Myron and Reddog too of course.

We went to visit Liz yesterday. Her nursery has turned out so well. She will be induced on Tuesday if Baby Berg doesn't arrive before then.

The side view of my 40 week belly and
I will give you the side view of Liz and her 42 week belly.
I know doesn't she carry her baby girl so well, me and my torpedo belly are a little jealous.

We are still here. No baby but my due date is technically tomorrow so no surprise there. Tomorrow we will venture to the doctor to see how things are progressing I will update you again then. Rylie and Ga-Ga are out for their morning stroll. This afternoon we hope to walk again and go see Liz. Yesterday we attended story-time at the library and went to the park to play. It has been so nice to have mom here early to help. I am pooped and would feel ever so guilty if Rylie wasn't getting the activity she craves. Redd too! Baby Berg still has not arrived and (sorry to say Liz) I am looking forward to having someone at the birthing center with me! I think Myron is too, you know change it up a little! Although, I doubt they will be running off to the bar or anything though like they have discussed!

Just wanted to throw you a little side not to let you know we are here, busy, tired, and still pregnant!

Later.

Last day of work means one day closer to a baby!!

Rylie and her new hairdo!
Big Rylie did it for her, isn't it beautiful!

Big Rylie and her beautiful ballerina dance moves.

Today was not only Shanna Marie's 31 birthday (sorry about the sinus infection) but it was also my last day at work and Rylie's last day at the sitter's. All was very bittersweet. Rylie has really grown to love her "friends". I hope we can continue to see more of them during our time at home. It was truly a blessing we found them. I couldn't have asked for a better environment and care giver to have.

Trying to get Rylie, TJ and Rylie in a picture together .
Rylie took the cheese literally!

Rylie Jayne and her friends.
Aren't they the sweetest!

As for my last day of work I also have mixed emotions. I am nervous about being home alone with two babies but excited all the same. Its an amazing opportunity. I remember after Rylie was born I wanted to be home so bad. It was a constant in my prayers. But what an amazing thing that happened. She was able to go to work with me for almost 15 months. I was able to continue to help provide for our expenses. I was able to meet some more incredible people. So God did hear my prayers, he just had a better idea....as usual! So today being my last day means I will see less of some people I love dearly. We even had two positions recently filled and I am sorry I wont get to know those lovely women as well. They seem so fabulous!!!! But this is a good thing. This is a wonderful thing. Although I am nervous about things being so tight for us financially God has always provided in the past and I don't see that changing, I just have to remember that!. So I look forward to special time with my kiddos, TWO OF THEM,
meeting new mom's in town, story time at the library, and so much more.

Tomorrow we have a check-up. 39 weeks. I hope the weight gain is not as significant this time. I know its sounds so petty but its truly how I feel. We will keep you up to date!

38 weeks

I am not happy about my doctors appointment today. I have somehow gained 7 lbs in two weeks. How did this happen? My diet has not changed and even with Lisser here I don't feel we ate poorly. I am perplexed. I did inform the doc that I have been quite thirsty lately but we haven't noticed any swelling or anything like that. So we just plan to keep an eye on things. I had been doing so well, keeping my weight way below what I did with Rylie.
Its depressing.
Plus I was hoping that I would be seeing some action with my "check". Not much going on down there either. 1cm. Cervix softening. The kid's head is way low, but nothing to get our hopes up about. I am still measuring 37w but they think its because the baby is moving down. Isn't amazing how the second time around is just as anxious as the first. I sure didn't think I would be as hopeful for "change" as I was.
The baby's heartbeat was nice and strong (150's) and he/she is VERY active. More so then Rylie was. So that is a positive.

(I just woke up from a nap before these pictures were taken, just a note)

Lisser left Tuesday night. So sad. We had such a wonderful time and she was such a BIG help to me. Rylie keeps asking for "Lih-la" she can't find her anywhere! Please come back soon.....OK. Mom will be here next Saturday and I am hoping the baby will come soon after that, but I do want her to be here first, that is for sure.

Here's the kid. Her teething has improved however Monday she developed a runny nose. Her voice is a little horse and she thinks its hilarious that she can blow bubbles with her nose. She doesn't have a fever so we are hoping its either more teeth or the change of seasons. Today I found her playing in the sink. My exhausted self filled it half-way with water and allowed the cheap entertainment began! We did "pretty good" at keeping the water in the sink.

p.s.
Notice her choice of shoes! She's a trend setter ya know..

I am coming around to it....

I know I know. I have been trying or rather thinking of posting for days now, I just haven't had the energy. It has been a tough week. Rylie has just been a mess with these teeth coming in. These have been BY FAR the worst. One minute she is fine the next she is screaming in pain. I don't think she had anything but milk for 6 days. She absolutely refused to eat and has just yesterday decided it might be OK to do again. She also is going through this attachment phase. I am sure not feeling well is contributing with the addition of all our "life changes" but from what I have read its a pretty normal for kids her age. She does not want to leave my side and going to the babysitters has been quite traumatic. I started to write her a letter on Monday but just kept crying and had to stop. Its below but beware I cannot finish it for obvious reasons, I cannot even proof read it. This is why I don't write stuff like this. I leave it to you others and hope I don't forget all her fun stories.

Sunday we had a fabulous baby shower given by Liz and Allison. Oh it was just perfect. Most of you know I don't do well with alot of attention thrown my way but this was just right. Just friends getting together to eat and let Rylie open presents! hahaha Thanks girlie's it really was perfect! Unfortunately I took two pictures. (seen Below) So I am waiting on Liz to send me what she has. I hear some very cute ones were taken!

I think some of you might have to sit down for this one:

So Sunday I was talking to Erin and she asked about craving's and such with this pregnancy compared to Rylie's. I realized I have been having one. Cereal. Cereal with milk. I haven't given in yet. Milk and Cereal has yet to touch my lips. But people, I don't know where this is coming from. This is a combination of food that has totally grossed me out for almost 15 years. I get mad at Myron every morning when he is eating it. I had to leave the dining hall at camp on cereal mornings. I gag when someone drinks the leftover milk. But Rylie loves it. We have bought these fun cereals (Kix, Life, Honeycombs) we used to eat as kids and its just in my brain. I find myself just wanting to taste it one more time to see if its stil the same. But I haven't given in to temptation. Its to much. I will totally regret it when I am not pregnant any more. In fact this will be the first Myron has heard of it due to the fact I had wanted to avoid his poking fun at me.

So now we just sit and wait.

Lisser will be here TODAY!!!!

for the week. I can't wait.

Gray will be coming home from Iraq to in 15 days.

Mama Kim comes in 17 days.

Baby Carr is due in 22 days.

grandma Judy in 37 days.

Ohhhhh the joy's!

Rylie,

Break. My. Heart. This morning I took you to Miss Julie's and you did not want to go. You usually love to go and play with your friends but today was different. Last week was different too. You are starting to show how much you love and want your mama around and I have to tell you I love that. Last night I laid awake all night thinking about how much I love you. How you have to have your milk warm even when its 100 degrees outside. How you have poo-poo and pee-pee mixed up. How much you love to sit in your daddy's jeep , put your seat belt on and pretend to drive. I love how you are sometimes so very, very tired that you call out for your bed, then when I put you in it and close the door you play like your just not tired anymore and need a book to look at while you wait to fall asleep. My sweet girl I love everything you do even if sometimes I don't act like it. Did you know you make other people WANT kids. That is how wonderful you are. Your "WAB " even says he only hopes his little girl will be as cool as you. Your an inspiration to many. The point is your mama is worried. She knows our new baby is going to be a fun playmate a for you to have and a wonderful addition to our unit but she doesn't want you to feel replaced. Its going to be tough to share your mom. Its always been tough for mom to share you!! But its going to be ok. That's what I ask God to remind me everyday. Especially on days like today when you have to be pulled away from mom so she can go to work and your beautiful face is so red and sad I have to run out the door so you don't see me cry. I love you so much sweet pea. So very much.

33 weeks 6 days my foot...

I can hardly breathe today. My stomach continues to want to grow but I tell it there is no more room!!! I thought I would give you a quick update on my doctor's appointment today. It went pretty well. Rylie was actually quite fond of "Dot-ta" Roach. Did I tell you she know points out "Mom's","Dad's", Ry-Ry" (what she calls herself), and "red's" stuff. Plus everything is "pup-ur" (purple). PLUS, she is getting all four of her incisor's at once...ALL FOUR! For another post I suppose!
ANYWAYS, back to the appointment, all went well. Heartrate was 129. He also thinks the baby is face up, can't remember what its called posterior maybe? Here is the kicker, I am measuring 37 weeks. 37 weeks people, no rounding up about it! Dr. Roach assures me this baby will be much bigger then Rylie's 8lbs 4 ozs.

Tomorrow will spent in preparation of The Rosenberg baby shower so pictures will flow Sunday hopefully. More camping picture's are on the Picasa page so go there for your fix!!! It will help the Hurricane pass!

Love ya

"I will tell you of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which He is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us-yes, the many good things he has done"... Isaiah 63:7

" All blood work is in normal range
" says Dr Lasich.
Whoo Hooo
No daisy bee-bee's here.
This is your sign Cortney.

Baby William was born!!!!
8lbs 6oz

My new phone from Verizon arrived

and.....

I got to take a nap!

What a great day today is.

Monday, July 21, 2008

I realized recently I don't like Oreo's, the chocolate ones that is the new vanilla ones are heavenly. Rylie on the other hand could eat the whole package. But for some reason I LOVE them when they are in stuff like ice cream or dirt cake. Its weird.

This weekend was pretty low key for us Carr's. So much so in fact I cant remember what we did. Myron fixed a whole in the pool so we tried to brave the 80+ feels like 100 degree weather and played in it. Rylie was introduced to Flavor-Ice, which she Lu-hu-huves! She insisted on eating hers AND daddy's. We also fed Allison's fish and watered her flowers. Although Rylie was thrilled to feed the fish she got a bigger kick out of water her flowers. She also tried to put Delilah's, the Kain dog, ball into the fish tank for the fish to play with. Isn't she so very sweet.

You would think Monday's would be the hardest days for Rylie to go to the sitter. I mean, she has been home with us Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Then we take her and drop her off for the whole day! But Nooooo, Not this kid. She loves Monday's. Tuesday's and Wednesday's, however are the tougher day's. Today she walked right in and didn't even turn around. I had to ask her for a hug and kiss bye-bye. Oh my little baby is growing up. No Fair!

Much Much later in the day:
  • Well perhaps today promises to be the light of a new week. This morning Myron woke me up from a dead sleep. This may sound awful to you, and no it was not fun, but oh the joy of not waking up at 5:forty-something and waiting to get out of bed. To know that I can sleep soundly if even for a couple hours is a wonderful feeling.
  • Myron was also able to talk to our wonderful Verizon dealer and get her to not only send my a new and different phone but also change our plan to something more suitable for our needs. All this with only having to add one month to our contact not two years!!!
  • Plus work went by pretty fast for a slow day. I hope tomorrow goes just as smooth. Its "Doctor Day" as we like to call it. This is when the Psychiatrist or APN I work for come in to see clients. This is my "crazy" day. And I do mean that in more ways then one. I am not so sure a pregnant lady should work in the mental health field. Talk about annoyed easily.

So besides my breakdown of guilt, over the dinner table tonight ,[How is Rylie going to handle the baby, the lack of attention, are we going to love Wyatt/Dylan as much, blah blah blah] its been a pretty decent day. I think this is a grand sign for test on Wednesday, right!?

Daisy Bee Bee's???????

Well, I had the dreaded glucose screening today. I think I might be the first on out of all of us to have to go back for more testing. Seriously, I was not all that surprised- sort of. I mean if its going to happen to someone its going to be me, THIS pregnancy. I just hope this poor child doesn't come out to be a terror or something. You laugh but I am really nervous about that. I just want this baby to be happy and healthy and perfect, is that to much to ask. I haven't really done anything much different this pregnancy diet wise. I haven't been exercising as much but chasing after Rylie counts for some of that right? Plus, its really really hot. I don't know, I don't like this whole thing.
So next Wednesday I will go back to the hospital for three hours of drinking "soda's" and finger pricking to see if I do in fact have gestational diabetes or as someone else so nicely put it "Daisy Bee Bee's". I must say I am a little perplexed and pray this all comes back to be a false alarm. After all I have none of the symptoms (but I guess most women don't), just high blood sugar today. The nurse did also mention that they had also seen an abnormally high number of patients need to be tested recently and are having their machine looked at. So we will see what happens. I am nervous. Please Pray for me and this sweet baby. Wednesday. 9am. Mountain time. Purty Please.

p.s. Thanks for listening to my constant whining. You are true friends.

Friday, July 11, 2008

Sorry for the venting. There are some days when you just have to let it out. I am working a full week this week so a little tired but not like I would be sleeping if I was home anyways. My training went well I am now QMAP certified or a Qualified Medical Assitant Program. I did learn that this is a lifetime class so I don't eve have to take it again unless I become a supervisor. I just have to remember to put it on future employment applications huh!

For the weekend Myron has gone to Buena Vista with the camper to enjoy some mountain biking and camping. Poor Reddog had to stay home due to the heat. We are hoping to only be in the mid 80's this week. Saturday Liz and I shall venture with Rylie to Target and maybe a few other places. I am hoping this will clear some of my nesting needs. Its harder to organize one closet for two kiddos. Although the price of gas may just make me more anxious. I have a feeling an order of Chili's Chicken Tenders will be in order for lunch. I need not remind you we live hours away from anything slightly entertaining.

On the Rylie front: she is doing pretty well. She had a fun time at the babysitters this week. She was excited to go see her friends again and play. She gets a little weary as each day passes but always ends up having fun. She is repeating almost every word we say too. It is so funny. She might be the most active child ever. A true Carr.

On the baby front: I am 28 weeks today. With working extra this week I will be going for my glucose testing next Friday. I don't know why I am so nervous about this but I am. The results that is, I guess now that I think about it the drink too, but that wasn't to bad from what I remember. Hopefully all will be well and I won't have to endure the 3 extra hours of testing. More excitingly, I think we have also decided on names. I never really had intended on keeping the names a secert [Lisser keep your comments to your self] but did toy around with the idea. We just weren't sure.

If its a boy Wyatt Myron.
Wyatt we like because its kind of western.
Myron is , of course Myron's middle name as well as his dad's. Kinda like Jayne!
If its a girl, Dylan Marie.
Dylan: because when I was pregnant with Rylie I met the sweetest little girl with that name. I told Myron if we ever had another girl that is what we HAD to name her.
Hope that's ok Duane?!
Marie:After my sister, its her middle name. Lisser got it from my grandmother. Making it twice as wonderful!!!
I also kinda like the fact that all the names have a second letter that's a Y.
Rylie.
Wyatt.
Dylan.
Weird. I know. But I like it.

For all the Stangers out there...

Yes. I AM pregnant again. Isnt that OBVIOUS!
No. I did not just have a baby. That was A year and a half ago.
No. My due date is October 3, not tomorrow.
Yes. I am well aware that means I have three more months.
No. I really won't bust.
Yes. I know its going to be a HOT summer.
No. I am not having twins.
Yes. I am sure.
Yes. I know I am huge.
Yes. It will likely be a big baby.
No. It is not about to fall out.
No. We do not know what it is.

Yes. I know you could never do it.

Yes. I know it will be hard to plan.
Yes. You can quit staring now.
.

PEOPLE.

STOP.

I am well aware I am pregnant and big and its summer. I am WELL aware of all these things. For some reason the second pregnancy is WORSE, when it comes to the comments of strangers. They continue to feel free and gawk at you. They continue to stand in the window of your office and tell you over and over and over and OVER again everything you are fully aware of. Even after you tell them several times " it only makes it worse when people keep saying it", " I hear it all the time".

SERIOUSLY?

GO A-WAY.

They don't get a clue. They are all women too.
Therefore I would like to thank the ONE man who came into my office today and proceeded to tell me how happy he was to see a woman who took care of herself while pregnant. How she appeared to stay healthy and active through out her pregnancy and didn't take advantage of "eating for two". And other fun stuff that made me feel G.O.O.D.
Thank You.
You will never read this, you do not know who I am, but Thank You.
Your wife and daughter must love you alot.

The pictures of Rylie are just plain funny and simply for your viewing pleasure....

ho-hum

I know.

I know.

I will update soon. It has been a l-o-n-g and not so exciting week so far.
Monday night no men were allowed in theater here in Pagosa so we had to take advantage of that! We went and saw Sex in the City, which was not to bad I might add. I have never seen one episode but enjoyed it none the less. I needed it that day.

Tuesday I went to bed at 8 o'clock. I was completely exhausted. This pregnancy the insomnia is hitting MONTHS earlier then last. I fall asleep hard for 3-4 hours then wake up every hour or two. ughhh

Rylie has also been coming to work with me while her babysitter is on vacation. She is loving the folks here again. I suppose since its 90 degree's I shouldn't feel bad she cant really play outside anyways. God bless Allison for being here too. Its alot harder to work and watch a toddler when your pregnant and tired. Rylie LOVES her some Allison!!!

I guess that will qualify as a post huh!!! Sometimes just typing away helps huh!

Sweet.

So talk to ya later!

Monday, June 16, 2008

It is 8:29 pm.
Little Miss Rylie Jayne is still awake.
She has been "talking" and singing non-stop since we got home today. She has continued to do so after I laid her down at 7pm.

I realized I have not been as consistent, as I was while preggers with Rylie, on keeping you up to date on our appointments. Rylie and I went on Friday. [Rylie is doing much better with each visit, as long as she can sit with me on the table she thinks everything else is funny and then they give her a sticker.] This visit I was at 24 weeks, although for some reason my nurse was certain I was at 23. Then my doctor gave me the "well, it looks like we have gained quite a bit of weight this month". I then had to convince her I had not gained 17 lbs, that the last nurse had written it down 10lbs to month I PROMISE. [Its true I remember seeing the scale, girls KEEP up with these things people]. We then listened to the heart rate, 148, and measured the belly, 26cm. I was given my yummy orange glucose "soda" and told to return in 4 weeks. So all continues to go well. This baby is moving a-lot. And although I wont tell you, we have decided on a girls name but are not agreeing on a boy's. We have a short list but are open to suggestions.....anyone...

The Sweetest Girl in the Whole World.

We ended up going to Durango on Monday after work to celebrate Jon's 30 birthday. For that special event I got no pictures, sorry. We spent the night there and got up for our doctors appointment the next morning.[for those of you who don't know, we live an hour away from Durango. This also means we live an hour away from the doctors office, the hospital, and simply civilizational.] Anyways the appointment went well. We ended up taking Rylie with us because of the whole birthday party deal. She did so great. No screaming 'cause mama was on the table or anything. Sweet Rylie Jayne even got up off of Dada's lap, stood beside me, and held my hand during the last part of the ultrasound. She just watched the tech do her job and protected her mama.
I KNOW!
Break my heart.
It was the sweetest gesture EVER.

As for the little butter bean , all looks good and normal. It had a heart rate of 154 and weighed about 12 oz. We even made it through the ultrasound without finding the sex.
We did it!
No turning back now folks, sorry.
Below is a picture of our second sweet pea.
Sorry about the picture quality we don't own a scanner but I thought you would like to see it anyways.

Not much happening here.
Well, I mean, I guess a lot happened because we had a very busy weekend .
I can't believe its Sunday already.
Yet nothing to eventful has happened.
Which of course is always a good thing.

We had three lovely evenings which we ate dinner with friends.
Delightful.
Plus, Rylie got to stay up until 9:30 two nights in a row.
Give us a couple days to tell you if that one is delightful or not.

Rylie was introduced to "Tangcicles".
She loves them.
I mean really loves them.
She also loves to eat ice.
I am starting to think anything that involves water, frozen or not, is her thing.

Plus we enjoyed lots of sunshine [and wind]. We popped the camper and cleaned 'er out. This made us way ready for warm nights and lots of camping.(coming Lisser?) It may be 70 during the day but it is still 20 at night. But with this warm weather I am really starting to push the sandbox and swing set idea on ole' pop's here.

AND My rash has gone.
Thank-You-Very-Much.
It seems I may be allergic to antibiotics.
Hope I don't need them again.

This week I will be working a full 5 days! SO please forgive me if the blog slacks in posts. I will try. I will not promise.

Toodles!

Ouch

Oh, where ever to begin! Thanks to Lisser for updating! I knew if it were me I would really be wondering. And thank you for all your prayers, there is so much power in prayer! All went well. Before the surgery babies heart rate was 170 after it was 140. Nice and strong. It was the right decision to have the IUD removed. As Lisser stated there was an abscess and infection that had formed around the IUD. We would not have known that without going in. Not only that but the IUD had migrated from my lower left to right up above the belly button. With this infection Dr. Priebe wanted me to spend the next 24 hours on antibiotics at the hospital. I think this was a hidden blessing as the procedure was much tougher on me then I expected. We left about 4:30 yesterday afternoon. I finally got to see my Rylie! This was my first time away from her. I am so glad Grandma Judy was here to take care of her. She seemed to do really well and was so excited to see us when we got home! Today I am a little sore but getting better. I have 10 more days of antibiotics to take. I have learned that all you women who had c-sections ARE TOUGH. I only had three small incisions and that has been uncomfortable, I can't imagine what how you girls felt!!Please continue to prayer for us to heal. We have a follow up on Wednesday and a flight to catch on Thursday!!!!

We are having much fun with the Grandfolks. They have really taken care of all of us. Joe has spent much time "waiting " with Myron. I know he appreciated it. And Judy, well she has gotten much quality time with Rylie and is helping me to heal. Unfortunately we have few pictures due to our "busy" week. But they are here until Sunday so we will try to get some good ones.

Healing...

Jessica is doing well, she is in recovery and SO ready to come home. Myron has been with her at the hospital while Grandma and Grandpa Carr watch Rylie. They found an abscess on the IUD and she had an infection so she had to stay over night. She isn't able to come home until she has had 24 hours of observation and antibiotics. Both both her and Little Carr baby are doing well and expected home this evening. Please keep sending her happy thoughts, prayers, and lots of love!!

So Tuesday huh ?!?!?!

Our doctors appointment yesterday went well, but much different then we expected. Well I might need to go into a little more detail to help you understand what is about to happen next. SO for those of you who don't know after Rylie was born we had an IUD put in as a means of birth control. The pill was unsuccessful with Rylie and after researching this, we thought it was the most preventative method available. Several months later after missing my period, calling the on call doctor, and taking a pregnancy test Dr. Baca insisted I come into the emergency room for fear of an ectopic pregnancy. After a lengthy ultrasound all was found to be ok, the pregnancy was located in the uterus and very strong. Now the question was "Where is that IUD?" After much search it was found, in my lower left abdomen area. Somehow the thing punctured through my uterus and was NOT where it was placed. The radiologist stated it was only the second she had seen in 13 years. Dr. Baca wanted to leave it in as surgery that early in a pregnancy was way to risky. So we went home. A little in shock and with many questions. Our next appointment was 2 weeks later. We had another ultrasound. All looked great. We met with a different doctor and again expressed our concerns. She was also fabulous, felt we should leave it in but promised to research more for us.

This brings us to yesterday.

We met with Dr. Lasich who immediately told us we should have the IUD taken out at some point of the pregnancy. She then went on [very neutrally] to explain to us that we are a very rare case and they had no definite answer for us. The doctors had talked and reviewed our case. They called specialist's in Denver as well as the manufacturer IUD and it was all very 50/50. Half think we should leave it in, wait until after the baby is delivered and feel strongly it shouldn't harm anything. The other half want to take it out and are concerned that as the pregnancy progresses and other organs grow and get pushed together, something else will become punctured and this could be life threatening to me and the baby. So basically its up to us. We have decided to take it out. We simply feel if the IUD went through one MAJOR organ whats to stop it from going through another. This should be a simple outpatient surgery but the they do have to knock me out to do it. This leaves concern of course for the baby. Although the chances are very slim, there is a chance for miscarriage and for this we NEED your prayers. They feel the end of the first trimester is the safest time to perform this procedure due to the fact all of the baby's organs are formed and the uterus is still on the smaller side. The procedure should not take more then an hour ,if all goes well, so I wont be out that long. It is all happening pretty quick. We are scheduled for Tuesday at noon!! Myron's folks are here so Rylie will be well taken care of. And we feel the pieces simply have fallen together to have this procedure done. So we ask, beg, and plead that you pray for us and the baby during this procedure. That all will go smoothly and the baby will be unaffected and continue to grow and form and live.

The baby is doing very well. The heartbeat was VERY strong, 178. It was very exciting to hear. Rylie's poo's were getting better until the day at the hospital. She gets worried about her mama! So hopefully today will bring progress again.

Thank you again for thinking and praying for us during this time. We sure know we can count on all of you [especially if you read all that]!!
