17 Beacon Court

Since Facebook, this blog has become more of an "archive" of our family. There are still many of you who check it out I know! But Facebook seems to be first choice for follow-up on our day to day lives. Its much less typing on my part, but I do love looking back and really seeing and remembering what we have done. With that said I have felt the need to post on our next step in life.
Upgrading, of sorts.
For 2013 I had/have 3 specific prayers for our family (besides health and safety of course):

1. For Myron to find stability in his job.
Check.
As of mid-January he moved from a Grant-Funded Counselor to The Middle School Counselor.
Its been a big change and more work but he is adjusting well. Personally I think it really is an excellent fit for him.

2. A change for me, work wise that is.
Ultimately I would love for my Photography Business to be financially successful. After all it is already successful in the way of fulfillment.
If not, I would really love to find a new path that would provide me time to continue to focus on that as well as provide more financially for the family. To ease the burden on Myron who has been such a great provider over the last 5 years.
Although I am ever grateful for being able to provide childcare I am simply ready for a change.

3. A bigger house.
Enough said right.
So after much thought, Thursday we officially placed our house on the market. We feel this is a good time and are hoping buyers agree. I am sure it will come to no surprise to you  but I did get a little emotional when the sign actually went in the snow yard. It was kind of like when we sold the Subaru though, just sentimental.
We have had 2 showings but no bites yet. We know it will take some time and are looking forward to this super fun change for our family.

17 Beacon Court

Last night I was looking at some old pictures. With the real estate market the way it is its hard for me to not desire a bigger, cheaper house. But with the house across the street going for 139,000 I dont think we could sell our house for what we paid for it. So we just keep waiting. Really, I am very thankful to be where we are. Our house, albeit small, is warm, solid, secure. We are in an amazing location with priceless views. We have passive solar and two bathrooms. We can walk to the grocery store. I love my nieghbors. I remind myself the house I grew up in was smaller then this and when I really start to get the itch I think of the house my dad grew up in. It was smaller, he was one of four, he had no air-conditioning in southern Flordia, he slept in the attic. We are blessed. I am thankful. And when I was looking at over the pictures from the last five years I realized we have really done a lot to our little place. It still may not be the prettiest but its much better!
 See ,if ya want.

Stuff...

I can tell we didnt get to play outside as long as usual this morning, naptime aint going so smoothly. Oh well its been a fun couple weeks so I cant really complain. Things here are flowing. That is a pretty great thing too I might add. We are enjoying some spring (mostly) weather. The kids have been able to be outside alot lately. We know have some new "obstacles" to overcome but I will take teaching not to throw gravel at the truck over dont eat the yellow snow anyday.

Myron is starting to make the first of some home improvements we have been wanting to do. He has started with painting the outside door's. Two down one to go. We are so happy to be rid of the dreaded blue. He has also consolidated the wood piles and cleaned up some yard space by the swing set. I will be happy once the tarps are gone {and the chairs and the trash} but we wanted to wait until after this week, since we are expecting more snow.of course.

With this spring fever he has also been diligently working on the Jeep. Even though this picture doesnt show it Wyatt was MORE then excited for a ride. Yes that is a minnie mouse cup, dont judge!

and apparently since we have been having so much fun outside I havent taken any pictures of that Joy. But this is how I found Wyatt yesterday after his nap. Well mostly, after I got him out of his crib he went right back to his room and found his favorite library book. When I came in he waslaying on his stomach pointing at the wheels of the truck. He cracks me up!
Now off to battle snotty noses, mine included. We can't forget that winterto springtime cold now can we!
Loves ya...
